But this case is an exception.

As you can see, waiting for 5p is too bad a winning ratio.

Expected value is less than half of honor tile waiting.

If there are both 2p and 8p, you can wait 5p. 

The winning ratio is not so huge difference, so expected value is better than honor tile.

It can't be one or the other. It needs both of them definitely.

5~  rounds, 1 tiles in the river is better.

In addition,  Dora can't be discarded to the riichi without a lot of help.

And yet, waiting for dora  still have the advantage than any tile.

That way, if you win, you'll get double dora.

This is relatively strong method.

In the rule of including red Dora,  expected value of waiting 5 is a little bit higher than others.

Even with that, winning rate of this trick is strong statistically.

Especially, It's even more effective when used for following Riichi.

The players who don't have safety tile will discard, and it is too difficult to have common safety tile for multi player.

If you discard 6s, this hand is one before for ready.

But one before for ready hand of 7 pairs is long and difficult road to ready hand.

It accept only 9 tiles.

Especially, all of the left tiles are from 3 to 5 ; 3m, 5m, 5p (Dora indicator tile).

If most tile of your hand are 2~8, you should look to all simples without hesitation.

If you discard 8p, you can create good form(multi wating) by drawing 3 4 5 6 7 8m＋2 3 4 5 6 p＋2 5s . 

 

Further more, 3m can make triple sequence.

Even under this condition, double Riichi is suprerior  to backing to one before for ready in statistical analysis.

So, in most cases, you remember " double Riichi is better".

(I don't know why we call this "back", and I have no idea to say in English.)

Back is very good way, because you can make ready hand with keeping safety tile.

Instead, it sometimes happened Furious-ten like this.

How do you resolve this??

If you discard 2s directory, you can win by only self drawing East.

It is too difficult.

Further more, If you call pong, you can't make ready hand.

In this case, you broke the sequence, you can ready hand again by calling pong East.
