Since mahjong is a game of three serial number  to make a single sequence elements.

If you have 'line tile' (three intervals tiles ex; 1 4 7, 2 5 8, 3 6 9), the completed elements will overlap.

In other words, when you have 4, you don't need 1, because you can make elements with 2 or 3.

On the other hand, when you have 5, if you bring 2, you will not be able to make a elements in any way.

In the beginning of the game, you should efficiently discard unnecessary tiles first.
